Config 7133, submitted by AM, Karlsruhe - Germany on Aug 30, 2005
Win2000, 3 monitors, 2 video cards
IBM Thinkpad A30p with IBM ThinkPad Dock II and Windows 2000 SP4.

The Docking Station offers 1x half-size PCI Slot and DVI connector (if the docked Thinkpad supports DVI).

Attached:
- 2x Eizo FlexScan L997 to Matrox (DVI, 1600x1200)
- 1x Eizo FlexScan L997 (DVI Docking, 1600x1200).

So far (two weeks) rock solid, I'm very happy.
Card 1:
AGP ATI Mobility M6 LY
It's the original integrated ATI card shipped with IBM Thinkpad.

Original IBM Thinkpad A30p ATI Driver from IBM support site.

Drivers dated: 02 Apr 2003 - Version: 7.79.7.3.3-030116a-008285-IBM
Card 2:
PCI Matrox Millenium P650, Matrox P650 chipset
Matrox Millenium Parhelia P650 PCI LP with Matrox Drivers 2kxp_110_00_037_hf.exe.

Note: MS .NET Framework required to run Matrox PowerDesk HF. There are drivers from Matrox without .NET required, but *only* minimum basic settings offered.

The Matrox offers dual-DVI based on a LFH60-to-2-DVI adapter cable (included with card). It supports up to two DVI Monitors with 1920x1200.

Unlike the AGP Version, the PCI Version includes a fan :-/

Caution:
Make sure to snug down the srew tight when you insert the card in the docking station. You have to keep away the metal grid of the fan away from the basedboard! Be carefull when you attach the heavy cable to card.

The is one minor issue with this card together with the IBM Thinkpad Dock II: I used switch to Standby mode over night. But with the card inside, the Matrox fan keeps spinning because the Docking and Thinpad are still powered :-/
