WinXP, 12 monitors, 4 video cards
Asus P5GC, Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, 4Gb RAM, 2 x 80Gb HD in RAID 1, 2Tb HD as d drive, HD's are in caddies and slot in and out from front of case (not hot-swap).
Card 1:
PCIe, Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT chipset
The fans on this and the 2 Matrox cards were too loud until I added a fan controller to each. I only need to dial it to full voltage for demanding applications such as games.
Card 2:
PCI, Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 chipset
No problems
Card 3:
PCI Matrox G450 MMS Quad, Matrox G450 chipset
The Matrox configuration software is very poor compared to the Nvidia software. Surprising for a company that specialises in multi-monitor cards.
Card 4:
PCI Matrox G450 MMS Quad, Matrox G450 chipset
No problems
