Two utilities are included with VideoSaver, SaverControl and QTConv.
 |
SaverControl gives you easy access to your screen saver from the taskbar. To enable or disable the screen saver, click on the icon with the left mouse button, to launch the screen saver click on the icon with the left mouse button and hold it down.
SaverControl works with any screen saver, not just VideoSaver. |
Tip: you can use your own icons with SaverControl! To change the icon, create a new icon (.ico file) named 'SaverOn' and place it in the VideoSaver directory. To change the icon, create a new icon named 'SaverOff' and also place it in the VideoSaver directory. The new icons will be used the next time you start SaverControl.

QTConv lets you convert QuickTime movies that are incompatible with VideoSaver (and with Windows Media Player). It requires a full install of QuickTime 3 or later. It is important that you choose the full install, otherwise the QuickTime components that enable video conversion are NOT installed! Go to Realtime Soft Update to download QuickTime. |
If you install QuickTime, all QuickTime (.mov, .qt) videos will be associated with the QuickTime media player by default. If you prefer the Windows Media Player, you can easily restore it as the default video player:
- open Windows Media Player
- choose View/Options from the menu and switch to the Formats tab
- reselect the 'QuickTime file' box
