Just a simple suggestion...
Couldn´t you install a maillinglist to announce new releases? One of those free things like Listbot would be enough. Just so that one knows when to recheck the Website.

Good idea, I'll do that. Should be ready in 1-2 weeks.
I have also been thinking about doing a newsletter with site news, etc. Would you be interested in this as well?

Sure why not, or you might split that (as lots of sites do. One Mailinglist where only major releases are announced and one where additional to that little site updates and tips etc etc are published.
