Hi,
is it safe to simply over-install the Beta7 release over the current Beta6? I mean, will it save any configuration data etc.? Or do i have to configure my UltraMon again from the default settings?

No, you should uninstall Beta 6, reboot, and then install the new version.
Beta 7 setup doesn't have upgrade functionality. Installing over Beta 6 may or may not work, but in any case settings won't be preserved.
