I have three monitors, two on my GF4, one on a PCI voodoo. My problem is that if I turn the computer on with one of the monitors off, or disconnected, and then restart with the monitor back on, the smart taskbar will NOT go back to that monitor unless I reinstall. Any workaraound?

Not sure why this would happen, UltraMon shouldn't adjust the taskbar configuration when not all monitors are enabled. Make sure you are using the latest release, 2.0 RC2.

To add a taskbar for a monitor, right-click an existing UltraMon taskbar, then choose 'Add Taskbar for' from the menu.

You could also send me your Smart Taskbar settings, with and without the 3rd monitor connected/turned on: to save the settings to a file, open regedit.exe, select the key 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtime Soft\UltraMon\Smart Taskbar\Taskbars', then choose File\Export from the menu.

ah...it is not when the monitor is disabled (and you see the shadowed outline in display properties.
It occurs when, say, I actually disconnect the monitor totally, and restart the computer, with only two monitors. The smartTskbar is on the second monitor, and display properties shows both monitors. When I throw the third one back into the mix, and it is again in the display properties, the taskbar it once had doens't show.
However, I will try what you said, likely that will work, as Ultramon might see it as a "new" monitor.

I have uploaded an updated version of the taskbar which should fix this problem, but there is a limitation: when one of the monitors isn't present, don't change any Smart Taskbar setting, otherwise you'll lose the taskbar for the monitor which isn't present.

Windows 98/Me: umtbar_w9x_rc2.1.zip
Windows 2000/XP: umtbar_wnt_rc2.1.zip

To install the update, close UltraMon, then extract the ZIP to your UltraMon directory, usually C:\Program Files\UltraMon.

Please let me know if the update fixes the problem.
