Thanks for the bug report. I'll look into it when beta releases of Longhorn become available.

In the same order: if you use stuff like stylexp to enable styles (someting like desktop themes) on your pc, the offset tool is real handy, but the buttons look really weird.

But, since the 3 regular buttons are changed by stylexp this bug could be their fault as well. Here's a pic of my current desktop:

As you see, the 2 custom buttons are positionned ok, thanks to the offset option, but they look freaky. The other 3 buttons are animated, they change into icons when moving over them, so i think this is a styleXP incompability. (for more info about stylexp, click here )

The problem is that UltraMon doesn't know how a given visual style draws window buttons (except for the button background, and also not with all visual styles).

You can create custom button bitmaps for a visual style, see UltraMon Help > Customization > Creating custom window buttons for more information. Button animation (mouseover) is also supported (this is referred to as the hot button state).

Windows Longhorn isn't in Beta, it's in the Alpha stages. The Plex theme will undergo many changes, especially after Microsoft and Sharp develop their new higher definition LCD displays and implement more visual effects. Don't expect Longhorn fixes until at least mid- to late-2004.
