Hi, I can't get the Smart Taskbar's to activate properly. I know this topic has been covered before, but none of the proposed suggestions (in both the FAQ and the Forum) have worked on my system. The error usually thrown is:
3280: TaskbarManager::CreateTaskbars
And another clue:
Ultramon version 2.1 is able to successfully start the Smart Taskbar. It is only any version above 2.1 that gives me a problem including the current release, 2.3.
One more thing that might be relevant: I'm not using any type of Windows modification software except for TweakUI.
So what do you think?

Please post the complete error message you get in the debug monitor, should be something like 'TaskbarManager::CreateTaskbars: WinTaskbar::Create failed'.

I'm having the same problem but I get no error message. I have tryed everything but uninstalling the program. I updated to the lastest version. Disabled then reenabled the options. Turned off Ultramon restarted and started it back up. Any suggestions?

The error messages are only visible in a debug monitor like DBWIN32, see this thread for more information.

Hi, I have some new information. I havent gotten new debug info (should be same as before) but I figured out what state prevents additional taskbars from loading. The cause on my computer is when I change the text of the start button.
This is done by altering a copy of explorer.exe and then directing the registry to use the modified copy. The only modification though is changing the text from "start" to something else..I like to use a single space " " to give myself more task bar realestate. Directions on this mod are spelled out here:

Is there anyway I can have altered Star button text and still enable the secondary task bars to load?

The UltraMon taskbar won't work if explorer.exe has been renamed or isn't used as the shell. See this thread for more on this issue.
I'm probably going to add support for custom shells in the next release, but haven't made the final decision yet.
