I've got 2 issues: 1. Wallpaper. I set this (to a jpg in say "c:\picts" ie a directory other than "Wallpaper") using internet explorer & when I boot the computer up the wallpaper changes to a different jpg in that directory. I'm not using UltraMon's wallpaper settings.
2. After I've opened a lot of internet explorer windows (not sure exact amount say 10 or so), after a while menu items stop working (ie right click menu will not show), using the mouse to goto the start menu will not show a highlight blue selection, etc. Generally the pc cannot be used and a re-boot is needed. I closed ultramon & most functionality returned but things still don't quite work and a re-boot is still needed.
Any ideas what may be happening?

1) I don't know what would cause this, sounds like a Windows issue
2) Most likely this is due to low resources, see this thread for more on this. This will also happen without UltraMon running, just a bit later, or if more IE windows are open

Thanks, 1. I'll check next re-boot - it appears that on starting the wallpaper is correct while various programs start, then it changes. I'll see if I can tell which program is doing this.
2. I've just got it doing this problem again. Main monitor has 4 programs (windows explorer, sourcesafe, internet explorer & lotus notes) Second monitor has 29 internet explorers and task manager. Right click doesn't work, and cannot get the highlight on any menu anywhere. Task manager says - Handles 8644 Threads 380 Processes 39
Physical Memory 2096136 Available 1722400 (moves a bit) System Cache 434684 (moves a bit) Kernal Memory 79500 (moves a bit) Paged 66400 (moves a bit) Nonpaged 13060 (moves a bit)
There are 2 Iexplore.exe processes a) has 521 handles, 13 threads, 249 user objects, 338 gdi objects b) has 1402 handles, 39 threads, 3286 user objects, 2774 gdi objects
Is it likely to be a resources issue? I'll go and re-boot & try again without UltraMon running & see what happens.
Another update will be added in a while...
Thanks

OK done some more checking and 1. Wallpaper issue was due to other software (which didn't unistall itself properly!!) It was a screen saver which had some wallpaper changing thingy which was in Startup and not removed when uninstalled. 2. Windows does the same thing without Ultramon. I could get 37 internet explorer windows before losing the menus - this is via the right click & "open in a new window". Could get more than I can be bothered counting if I open seperate internet explorers.
I was sure I could open more ie's before - maybe before a windows update though.
Sorry to raise issues that aren't bugs in UltraMon.

Let me know if you find out anything else.
It's probably not due to a recent patch though, I've seen this issue for at least the last 1-2 years, on various systems.
On my main system with 1 GB RAM I usually start getting problems if the handle count reaches around 16,000, I then need to close some windows to be able to continue working.
