I set up a profile A to support my laptop (1920x1600) with an external lcd display (1600x1200) and another B to use an external lcd projector (1024x768). Swithching from A to B works fine, but from B to A causes the main laptop lcd to go to ~160x120 mode, and all my windows default size gets screwed up. How can I prevent this? Could this be because of vaio's auto sensing feature?

This could happen if the monitor numbers are switched, for example when creating the profile, the laptop monitor was #1 and the projector #2, but when you apply the profile the monitor numbers are switched.

You can see monitor numbers by selecting Display Settings from the UltraMon menu, then check 'identify monitors'.

More information about monitors is available on the About dialog (UltraMon menu > About).

Another problem could be if the profile changes the primary monitor, and your laptop uses an Intel video chipset. For some reason, changing the primary monitor does not work with current Intel video chipsets, what happens is that the laptop display gets changed to 640x480 resolution and remains the primary monitor.
