When I open two documents in Word, I can place them on either monmitor. But two Excell ducuments only can be placed both on mon. 1 OR both on mon. 2.
Office 2003/UK on Win XP SP2 / UM v 2.5

There are two workarounds for this:
- maximize the main Excel window to the desktop, you can then move documents to the desired monitor (if they aren't maximized). UltraMon will put the taskbar buttons for the document windows on the correct monitor
- open each document in a new instance of Excel. See this thread for more information
