I have an ATI card with 2 21 inch LCDs, both connected via DVI. The problem I am having is that for whatever reason Monitor 1 keeps switch back and forth between the 2 LCDs. How does XP or Ultramon for that matter choose which monitor it will choose as #1? I have tried switching the cables from one port to the other hoping that it was port dependent, to no avail.
I also have a similar issue in which a 17" and 21" are connected to the same Video card and XP always chooses the 17" as Monitor #1 even though i want the 21" to be monitor #1.

Usually this is port-dependent, I'm not sure what would cause the monitor numbers to switch on your system.
UltraMon can't override the monitor numbers, and I'm also not aware of another way to assign specific numbers to a monitor.
