I have an 8800GTS card, and the latest driver from Nvidia only allows a 'horizontal span' option for displaying two monitors, unlike the old behaviour of 'attaching' a second monitor to the first. The horizontal span puts the notification tray all the way to the right side of the right monitor, which I dislike, and the clutterbar occupies both monitors, so there is no place to put the smartbar on the bottom of the 2nd monitor.
Also, Because of this, ultramon doesn't know that the second monitor is enabled (if the horizontal span is chosen) and it can't enable the second monitor if the single display option in Windows is chosen.
Has anyone else had this problem, and is there a workaround?

more info: sorry to whinge - but you might find this useful.
Because Ultramon doesn't 'realize' the second monitor is activated, the option to switch windows from one screen to the other isn't available, and also wallpaper cannot be displayed individually for each monitor.

UltraMon doesn't support span mode.
I would recommend contacting Nvidia Support, seems very unlikely that they no longer support regular extended desktop mode (Dualview).

In fact, you are correct. What is odd is that the dualview functionality did not return until I had installed the drivers for my sound card.
Then, the display wizard started and offered the dualview option.
