I've been using UltraMon for about 10 minutes so far. It's fairly nice, but there are a few problems what will prevent me from buying it after the trial runs out:
1. The Windows Media Player toolbar doesn't work at all on the secondary taskbar. When I select it, nothing happens. It still works on the primary taskbar.
2. I can't create any new toolbars for the secondary taskbar.
3. Icons do not display for shortcuts in the "Links" toolbar, which is the only available toolbar for the secondary toolbar that I can add shortcuts to.
4. The "Quick Launch" toolbar is not available on the secondary toolbar.
A few "would be really nice" things:
1. Ability to move the start button from one taskbar to another, or to have multiple start buttons.
2. Same with the system tray.

i've been using UM 3.0 beta 1 on vista for a few weeks now. works really well with the only real annoyances i have experienced being:
1. sometimes the second taskbar is doubled, meaning the second screen ends up with two taskbars. this tends to happen after the computer has been locked and i log in again. very rarely, this happens in the main task bar as well.
2. after the computer has been locked and i log in again, the order of the icons (of running programs) in the taskbar is shuffled around.

Thanks for the feedback.
1) the WMP toolbar doesn't work with UltraMon, it seems to be hardcoded to work with the Windows taskbar only.
2) folder toolbars are not supported at the moment, support for this may get added in a later release.
3) the Links toolbar and most other Microsoft toolbars don't work with UltraMon, at the moment it doesn't look like this can be fixed in UltraMon.
4) you could use the True Launch Bar instead, which works fine with UltraMon.
Support for moving the Start button or system tray will be considered for a future release.
Ely, the first issue should be fixed in the next release. For the moment I see no fix for the second issue.

I'd really prefer to just have folder toolbars. I'm demoing TrueLaunchBar right now, and aside from being incredibly bloated for what I actually want to use it for, it is yet another utility app that I would have to pay for, which is doubly ridiculous because it seems to me that functionality like this should be included in Ultramon - which by the way, I feel is incredibly overpriced for a utility.

I have found that I can get ICONS to appear, at least temporarily...
1. open the folder where the links are placed. (UltraMon Taskbar -> Links Toolbar -> Open Folder) For some reason, its NOT the same folder that the Links Toolbar on the Windows Taskbar uses!
2. open the properties dialog for a link in that folder
3. click the "Change Icon.." button in the properties dialog
4. merely click the "OK" button in the "Change Icon" dialog that appears
5. click the "Apply" button in the Properties dialog

But then, the point is really moot, isn't it?
The links in the Links Toolbar on the UltramMon Smart Taskbar don't work.
