Great application and fantastic support. This forum is really top notch.

(I use 2 ATI video cards for 4 displays)

On my xp desktop , I "hide" icons (preferring pretty wallpaper pics). Instead of icons, I use 6 Windows autohide toolbars docked to the left, right and top.

Prior to installing UltraMon, if I used ATI's Catalyst to change the 'Primary' monitor, the toolbars would move to the new primary (just like loose desktop shortcuts do).

Now, after installing UltraMon - when I change primary display - the docked toolbars won't move to the new primary. I can then only launch apps from the one screen.

Is there a setting or something to get the toolbars to move to the primary display when it is changed?

Maybe the ATI software moved the toolbars, UltraMon can't do this. You should still be able to move them manually though.

One possible workaround would be to both change the primary monitor and disable the secondary monitors, for example with a display profile, the operating system should then move the toolbars to the primary monitor.

Thanks for helping with this.

Creating a profile to disable the 1st display did move everything (toolbars and start menu) to the 2nd. There is a remaining problem though.

I then attempted to re-enable the disabled monitor in order to use it. I created a second profile that would simply re-enable the 1st monitor without changing anything else (so the 2nd would remain primary). Unfortunately, the toolbars went back to the first monitor while apps then began opened there again. Windows taskbar remained on the 2nd.

Side note: When I disabled the 1st monitor, the 2nd became primary but the UltraMon taskbar loaded right above the Windows taskbar.

Ok, I found a simple and good solution.

To get (in this case) "2nd" display to newly gain all toolbars and taskbar - reliably.

- Run one "Enable only 2nd" profile, to disable displays 1,3 and 4 (temporarily causes transparent toolbars in 2nd display - next step always fixes this).
- Run another "Add all to 2nd" profile to re-enable displays 1,3 and 4, keeping 2 as primary.

2 such profiles are needed for each monitor you would like to gain full primary status.

Hmm... seems like my solution was just a restatement of yours : - )
