I have a Creative GeForce Pro (OEM) in my AGP slot and a Diamond Multimedia Viper V550 in a PCI slot. My BIOS is set to initiaize the AGP slot first. I have been able to get the system up under WIN 2000 (with Service Pack 1) using the latest NVidia Detonater 3 (Ver. 5.12) drivers for both cards. When I try and enable the OpenGL for Multiple monitors under the "OpenGL Settings"
tab, there is not a checkbox option displayed.

I have tried to get these two cards to work under WIN 98 with all sorts of combinations of drivers. I can get it to work using the Detonator 3 drivers on the Creative GeForce Pro, and the old drivers that shipped with the Diamond Multimedia Viper V550. BUT it only works until I reboot! Then, either windows won't load and I have to remove the cards in Safe Mode, or the Geforce only works in VGA mode and the Diamond initializes- but cannot be enabled in "Display Properties".

Any suggestions?
Does anybody think that a Matrox Millenium G-200 SD would work with the GeForce and both versions of Windows?

Make sure you have installed the 6.18 drivers, and scroll down the list of Performance and Compatibility options, 'Enable Advanced MultiMon' is the last one.

Or maybe mixing TNT and GeForce cards doesn't work for multimon OpenGL? So far I only heard of TNT/TNT2 combinations, anyone else using Detonator 3 and a TNT/GeForce configuration?

RE: "Make sure you have installed the 6.18 drivers,........"

I had the Version 4.12.01.0618
(http://www.geforce.com/products.nsf/htmlmedia/detonator3.html as of 8.25.00) drivers installed on both cards. The last option displayed under 'Enable Advanced MultiMon'was "Disable support for advanced CPU instruction sets".

I ended up pulling the Diamond Viper and replacing it with a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI. Works like a charm-- the first time!

If it hadn't been for this site, I would have given up! Thanks again!

Definitely looks like you can't mix TNT and GeForce cards for multimon OpenGL. Someone with a Quadro and a TNT2 reported the same problem with Win2000: the 'Advanced MultiMon' option is simply missing.

I've tried a Matrox G200 PCI card running along side a Creative 3D blaster Geforce 2 GTS card. OpenGL acceleration is not available on either display, and in fact some OpenGL applications bomb out completely - so don't waste your money on this combination. I'm currently looking for a PCI Geforce 2 GTS cards - but with no luck...
