Just purchased my 2nd monitor and hooked up a all-in-wonder 128 PCI to add to my system.. I have an asus p3b-f motherboard that allows me to set my AGP as primary.. which i did, no luck getting the all in wonder 128 to work as a secondary device, however it will work fine when i tell the motherboard to make it the primary.. any suggestions?

Seems like several people have this problem (see the database). The cause is most likely the TV tuner/video stuff. If you have Win2000, you might try the S3 trick: set the AIW as primary in the BIOS, then set it as secondary in Win2000.

I actually emailed ATI support this on a while back (they are actually pretty responsive). I wanted the TV on my "second" screen. Here is the response. I think I also read somewhere that you may need to disable the TV stuff somehow (which I am guessing would probably not meet your needs).

With regard to All-In-Wonder 128 support for multiple displays:
This configuration is supported by the All-In-Wonder 128. It is important to
configure the cards properly, so that they detect and install properly on
bootup. During PnP configuration, the PCI and AGP slots are initialized one
at a time in a specific order. The order in which the slots are initialized
may vary from one motherboard to another.
The first display adapter to be initialized receives a complete set of VGA
and accelerator resources and becomes the PRIMARY display adapter.
Therefore, the All-In-Wonder can be either primary or secondary adapter, but
will only function as a standard vga card when it is the secondary. For
further details, please see below.

All PCI:
If all display adapters are PCI, the order of initialization can be altered
by MOVING the cards to different slots.
Figure out which display adapter is currently the PRIMARY by booting the
system. The boot messages and the Windows 98 logo will appear on the PRIMARY
display.
If you would prefer a different PRIMARY display adapter, power down, remove
the cards, and swap slots.
Mixed AGP and PCI:
If one of your display adapters is AGP, you obviously can't swap slots to
control the order of initialization.
Many AGP motherboards are designed to initialize the PCI slots first. In
this scenario, if a PCI display adapter is present, it will automatically
become the PRIMARY display adapter. If this is the case with your
motherboard, and you want an AGP PRIMARY, you'll need to REMOVE all PCI
display controllers from the machine.
Some recent system BIOS's contain a SWITCH which will allow you to SPECIFY
whether the system should initialize PCI first, or AGP first. Check your
motherboard documentation, or look in system setup ("CMOS") to determine
whether your BIOS supports this feature. Different manufacturers may use
different names for this option. Most often, you will find it on the "Plug
and Play" page. Some systems may even "auto-detect" when you've made a
change to the display adapter, and prompt you to select a PRIMARY device.
If your system BIOS does NOT allow you to specify whether AGP or PCI should
be initialized first, you will need to REMOVE the other display adapters in
order to use the AGP card as a PRIMARY.
You might wish to check with the motherboard manufacturer (or your system
manufacturer) regarding the availability of a system BIOS update which DOES

Does the all-in-wonder 128 32MB support multiple display under Win98 and
Win98se? As primary or secondary monitor? Are there any special steps
needed?
Note, I looked at the ati knowledge base, but for a list of valid cards it
just references Microsoft's original list which obviously does not cover the
new cards (info-base file# 2990).
