I guess it is probably more of a CPU issue than RAM, high-resolution video clips can be quite CPU-intensive (depending on compression method).
In display properties, is the third monitor to the left of the monitor that is now primary? If that's the case, the problem is that the media player can't deal with negative coordinates. All monitors to the left of the primary have negative x coordinates.
