Hey, firstly I'd like to say that UltraMon is a great program, and I love it for my dual monitor display. However, recently it hasn't been working for me.
A few days ago, due to a power surge, my computer shut down. When I rebooted, everything worked fine, except that when I tried to run some programs, such as CuteFTP or Duke Nukem, Manhattan Project, it would give me the error message: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc06d007e). Click on OK to terminate this application."
I thought that something must have gotten messed up because of the power, so I reinstalled Windows XP. However, I found to my dismay that when I reinstalled all my programs, I still got the same error message! However, by disabling my startup programs sequencially I was able to pinpoint UltraMon as the culprit. Without UltraMon running I had no problems.
UltraMon 1.0 runs fine, but beta 7 is the one that I'm having trouble with. I really love beta 7 and it would be great if someone could help me out, as I did register and pay for the program. Thanks a bunch!

Macromedia Freehand has the same problem with the latest version of UltraMon, I guess some of the changes made to make it Win9x compatible have caused other issues.
As a workaround, you can disable custom window buttons for the applications which fail to start. To do this, go to Options > Window Title Bar, click Add and select the executable (for example FreeHand 10.exe).
I'll work on this issue for the next release.
