I’ve been rethinking my wardrobe lately and trying to simplify it. Neutral shirts, good jeans, one solid jacket — that kind of thing. But I keep coming back to leather pieces. A few years ago I bought a simple leather belt and it ended up being the thing I wear almost every day. It made even a plain white tee look more put together. Now I’m wondering if leather can actually be part of a “basic” wardrobe, or if it always turns into more of a statement. Do you see leather as a staple, or is it something you only bring out for special outfits?

From my experience, leather can absolutely be part of a basic wardrobe if you choose the right pieces. It doesn’t have to mean biker jackets only. Sometimes it’s about smaller details or well-made items that last for years. I once thought leather was too bold for everyday wear, but after trying a few minimalist designs, I changed my mind. I was browsing https://bleakandsleek.shop/collections/leather-lingerie out of curiosity and realized that even more daring categories can have clean, simple cuts that work under regular clothes without feeling over the top. Quality also matters — good leather ages well, so it actually fits the “buy less, wear longer” mindset.

Funny how wardrobe basics mean different things to different people. For me, the foundation has always been about comfort and durability. I don’t focus too much on materials as long as things feel good and hold up over time. Trends come and go, but having a few reliable items you can grab without thinking makes mornings easier. Whether that includes leather or not probably depends on lifestyle and personal taste. I guess the real “basic” is whatever you consistently reach for without second-guessing it.
