I am trying to connect an Acer AL2216W (22" widescreen) LCD to my Dell Latitude D620, using the extended desktop option. However I am not allowed to set the Acer's monitor resolution to higher than 1024x768.

Please let me know if anyone knows why this happens. I want to run the monitor at 1680x1050.

The Laptop uses the Intel 945GM Express chipset, and the adapter chip type is the Intel GMA 950.
